Careers & volunteering

Practise law. Fund justice. Do both at once.

Whether you're looking for a full-time role or a way to give a few hours a month, there's a place for legal skill at Salvos Legal — on the commercial side, the humanitarian side, or both.

Working here

Roles across both firms.

Commercial firm

Fee-earning roles

  • Commercial & corporate solicitors
  • Property & conveyancing lawyers
  • Technology & IP solicitors
  • Wills & estates practitioners
  • Paralegals & practice support
Humanitarian firm

Mission-facing roles

  • Humanitarian solicitors
  • Registered migration agents
  • Advice bureau coordinators
  • Phone advice line staff
  • Paralegals & case support

Whichever side you join, you're part of one organisation with one purpose. Commercial practitioners see their fees at work; humanitarian practitioners get the backing of a properly resourced firm rather than a stretched volunteer roster.

Volunteering

Three ways to give your time.

Advice bureaus

Sit alongside our lawyers at a community advice session and see matters through with the people who bring them.

In-house pro bono desk

If you're in-house counsel at a company or government agency, contribute hours directly to humanitarian matters through our pro bono desk.

Migration clinic

Registered migration agents and immigration lawyers can support the asylum seeker legal clinic on a session-by-session basis.

Keep your CPD points working double duty

Our on-demand continuing legal education product lets any lawyer complete their required CPD points on their own schedule — and every dollar of proceeds goes back into funding free advice. It's a simple way for the wider profession, not just our own staff, to support the mission.
